A joint venture with Wrightson meant that although BOSS was a new brand in the market it was already backed by one of the leaders in farming. A feeling of heritage was communicated through a pioneering grass roots New Zealand style, the positioning statement “For your right hand man”, and the leading advertising messages “Because he earned it” and “Only a farmer would understand”.
