Summer catalogue in Okinawa
Obon is a Buddhist custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. As with any holiday period shopping is a key leisure activity during Obon and DFS Okinawa offer a number of promotions during this time.
WAVE created a special Obon catalogue and combined this with their with beauty catalogue. The Japanese booklet could open both left and right. So the Obon booklet “opens right to left”, and beauty booklet “opens left to right”. WAVE developed the creative concepts, designed the finished art and art directed the model and product photo shoot in Okinawa.
